Michael's Deportation

Michael wanted a few of his closest friends to get together for one final dinner before he leaves for Australia. I arranged for Joy, Alicia, Drew, Michael & myself to meet up at Elways in downtown Denver. After dinner we met up with more of his friends at a bar in Uptown.Joy, Michael, Alicia & Drew upon arriving at the Ritz.
Group shot of us all celebrating Michael's big move.Myself, Drew & MichaelHere is Michael with his 2 favorite ladies from work. All three of them work for E&Y.Michael with his friends David & Eli.Damn, are we hot or what???? Look out Australia, here comes Matlock.Champagne smuggler in the middle. So Michael got a bottle of champagne for Christmas and had been waiting on the perfect night to open it. He took it to Elways, but they will not cork a bottle in Colorado. So luckily the bar we were headed to had a patio. He gave it to someone on the inside of the railing and told them to watch it for him while we entered. Nothing like drinking champagne out of plastic cups. Here is Michael with Nathan & Peter.
Our buddy Phil & Michael enjoying one last drink together.Good bye dear friend. So Drew took this last picture of Michael and I together here in the states. The next time I see him will hopefully be this fall in Australia. I don't know what I ever did to deserve a best friend like him. He is an amazing individual & someone that I love dearly.

Bear Creek Trail

So I should start this entry off with letting you know that it hasn't been the greatest week. My best friend is moving to Australia on June 3rd and I will not be here to see him off since I'm leaving on May 30th for the Aids Lifecycle ride. Also, I found out that my ex Bevan will possibly be moving to Atlanta very soon. This basically hit me like a ton of bricks on Friday and it was not a pretty site. The thought of losing 2 of the most important men in my life has really upset me. Bevan has always been my rock & Michael has always been there with his amazing insight and friendship. I will miss them both more than they will ever truly know. Bevan and I decided to spend the day together and hike a trail in Boulder. It was a great day.
Great shot of the Flat Irons in Boulder as we started the trail.
It was a beautiful day. The sun was out and the air was nice and clean. Talk about a gorgeous view.
I'm king of the mountain. I was talking to Bevan today about how it would be hard to leave all of this behind and he agreed. He loves the outdoors as much as I do and not having this in your backyard would be tough to give up.
This is my favorite shot of the day as Bevan makes his way down the trail through the aspen groves. It was a great day to reconnect with my best friend. We almost made it to 9 years and I'm so happy for all the times we had together. Life has taken us down 2 different paths, but it is nice to know that the special bond that we've always had is still intact.

San Diego

I traveled to San Diego for a nice relaxing 4 day weekend. I stayed just outside of San Diego on Coronado Island and it was very nice. I took my friend Colin with me and we had a great time just relaxing and taking it easy. The condo that we stayed in was especially nice & it was located directly on one of the canals leading to the inner coastal. Here I am with one of the polar bears in the zoo. These animals are massive.
Here is the zoo's cute little Panda cub. This is Zhen Zhen up in the tree's. She was born in August of 2007.

Baby Zhen Zhen playing in the tree's.Colin on the beach outside of Encinitas. Notice the color of the sand. Kinda of a brownish color with specs of black. The beach looks great from this shot, but there was a lot of trash and debris as you get further back from the water.
Colin got in the water up to his knee's, but I did not. The water was freezing. The temperature the whole time we were in San Diego was low 60's. I was hoping for much warmer weather.
Enjoying a great lunch outside of Encinitas. The setting was great as it was an old depot that has been turned into a restaurant. We did the old scenic route of Hwy 101 from Solana Beach north. It was absolutely beautiful.Great shot of Petco Park where the Padres play. Our Colorado Rockies were in town this past weekend as well. We spent the afternoon at a bar called Altitude on the rooftop overlooking the ballpark & got to watch most of the game. The stadium is nice, but does not have the architecture of Coors or Turner Field.
